Shoe post, just for depresso!

Okay, I wasn't going to post these, but since depresso asked, I feel that I must. Plus, I do really wanna.

These are pretty great, and versatile, too...

I LOVE these, but there are relatively few things I could wear them with. Maybe if I got a purse to match... but I shouldn't be spending money in the first place, much less MORE money to justify the previous money!
These are really cute, but I simply do not have the legs for them. Maybe hormones will decrease my calf size a bit...
And these... these are my favorite shoes ever. Ever. I would wear these with jeans or a bathrobe. I would wear these en homme, and everyone could kiss my ass! Damn it... I am NOT getting out my credit card.

Oh, they're gorgeous! All of them! The three coloured sandals could work with jeans... The polka dotty pairs are stunning (so cute!) and those pink ones rock. Loving the lacing detail in back.

A note about Transgender Resources on the web

There is a lot in the way of transgender resources on the web. I wish there had been so much available when I was a youth, in fact. However, the wealth of information is a double-edged sword, as some of the information is dangerously flawed.

Read everything, including those resources to which I've linked, with a critical eye. In particular, managing your own hormone dosage or trying to perform any surgery (including orchiectomy) on yourself is a bad idea.

Additionally, I feel it is important to warn against assigning any weight to "gender tests" on the web, including the COGIATI, which I feel is particularly harmful because of the serious tone and the apparent intelligence of the author. There is no test for gender identity better than your own lived experience.

Finally, feel free to point me toward particularly useful web resources for any transgender audience. I realize that the resources I've linked are primarily of interest to trans women, but that is merely because this is the sort of resources I've a tendency to actively seek out. Therefore, I am also perfectly willing to add links to quality resources of interest to trans men, transgenderists, crossdressers, queer-identified persons, and allies.

A note about Anne Lawrence

Many women in our community have had serious problems with Anne Lawrence, and there are accusations of sexual assault (details here.) Therefore, I would urge any woman to think hard before making an appointment with, or contacting Anne Lawrence in any way. I have preserved my link to her website below, because I believe that her SRS results photos are an excellent resource for helping trans women to form realistic expectations for their own SRS. Be warned: the results are not always pretty, which underlines the importance of selecting a skilled surgeon and taking aftercare very seriously.

One caveat before having a look, though: some of the images are rather porn-y, and reading the accounts from patients who have been assaulted or made uncomfortable by her renders the photos even more unnerving. Therefore, I recommend that you have a look if and only if you are considering having genital reconstructive surgery.

If you know of another source of images of SRS results, please clue me in. I'd much rather avoid linking to Anne's site, but in the absence of an alternative, I feel it is too important for trans women to see what may be in store.
